In Dhankuta's Chhathar Jorpati Rural Municipality-2 Jorpati, a child was seriously injured after a van collided with it.

According to the police, the van of Matrubhagya Agrovet numbered Na 2 Ch 485, which was going from Sidhuwa to Hille, hit Rio, the 4-year-old son of a local Bandana Magar, on Friday night.

DSP Omprakash Khanal, spokesperson of the district police office, said that the child's head and legs were injured.

It is reported that the injured child is being treated at Biratnagar Hospital. Ravindraraj Ghimire of Chhathar Jorpati-6, who was absconding after hitting the child, and the van were taken into custody by the police at 10:50 pm. 

The police said that Ghimire, the driver, was taken into custody while he was hiding in a joutar near the market.
