Chunkumari murder case: Murder planned by husband, 6 arrested

The police have released six people involved in the murder of 34-year-old Chunkumari Dahal of Dhankuta Mahalakshmi Municipality, who was found dead in Panchkanya Community Forest located in Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City-6. According to the plan of her husband Prem Bahadur Budhathoki, Chunkumari was killed according to District Police Chief SP Suman Timsina.

Speaking at a press conference at the local police office Dharan on Thursday, SP Timsina said that the investigation is being done using the highest technology in this incident.

Prem Bahadur Budhathoki, husband of the deceased, Dhakendra Budhathoki of Sangam Chowk, Morang Pathari Shanishchare Municipality-3, his wife Srishti Budhathoki, Panchthar Miklajung Rural Municipality-7 Lumangding house and Yogendra Gautam, resident of Phagutol Morang Urlabari Municipality-5, Denu Gautam and Keshavraj Dahal of Morang Pathari Shanishchare Municipality-3 are charged with murder. District Police Spokesperson DSP Durga Dahal said. Another Indian citizen, Raju Thapa Magar, who lives in Assam Khakan settlement, is absconding, he said. On the 25th of Chait last year, Dahal's semi-naked body was found at the foot of a tree in the Dharan-6 Panchkanya community forest with a bag-like ribbon wrapped around his neck.

The deceased woman had been living on rent with her 14-year-old son in Halgada of Itahari for two years. According to the preliminary investigation, the police said that after completing her son's examination, she went to Mavali on Saturday and was alone at home. Chunkumari's husband Prem, who is in Korea for foreign employment, came home on vacation last December. He returned to Korea on January 16.

DSP Prakash Jabegu of the area police office Dharan revealed during the investigation that he had planned to kill his wife when she was on vacation because she refused to ask for a divorce. Among those involved in the

incident, Dhakendra Budhathoki, his wife Srishti Budhathoki, Donu Budhathoki and Keshavraj Dahal were arrested from their home on March 29, Yogendra Gautam was arrested from Kakdbhita on the Nepal-India border on March 30, and the husband of the main planner deceased Dahal was arrested from Tribhuvan International Airport on Wednesday and remanded in the murder case, police inspector Divash Kuwar said.  In the press conference, Police Inspector Kunwar informed that the 150 cc Pulsar motorcycle of Province 1-02-043 P 6862, the motorcycle of Madhesh Province 03-026 P 7144 and the motorcycle of Province 1-02-0044 P 1059 used in the

incident were seized.
