The employees of Limchungbung Rural Municipality now have to wear ethnic costumes during office hours two days a week.

Pushpalal Rai, the vice president of the municipality informed that the decision was taken by the executive meeting on March 1st and implemented from May 1st. From now on Sundays and Mondays employees will have to attend office hours in ethnic attire . Rai said that this decision was taken to protect the culture and traditions of the castes living in the municipality and to promote tourism in the municipality.

President Major Kumar Rai says that such a policy has been implemented as it is the responsibility of the executive to protect the caste, dress, language and culture within the rural municipality.
