The 8th Phalelung Chaunri Tourism Festival organized in Phalelung of Panchthar has ended with a program aimed at chaunripalak farmers.
The festival started on Chait 31 and ended on Tuesday . On the occasion of the festival, Devi Prasad Nepal and Tenjing Bhotia, who started the chaunri farming business for the first time in Phalelung, were honored. Three other farmers were also awarded.
Nepal and Bhotia were honored by Dosalla and Kadar letters among others at the opening ceremony of Chaunri Tourism Festival, Tourism Forest and Environment Minister of Koshi Province Sadanand Mandal and MP Maia Shrestha Lavati. Sharmila Rai, Rangam Magar and Phipraj Kerung have been awarded as the best chaunripalak. They were awarded with cash and certificates. In the
festival, a football and rope pulling competition has also been held among chaunripalak businessmen. A cultural program based on Nepali original culture including Yak dance was also organized. The 8th Phalelung Chaunri Tourism Festival, which is the main promoter of
Rural Municipality, was organized by Phalelung Kanchenjunga Tourism Organization and Deepjyoti Youth Club. The festival has been taking place since 2073.
