A campaign to stick stickers on tourist vehicles has started in Koshi

The Koshi state government has started a campaign to stick stickers on tourist vehicles at the border crossings. Chief Minister Hikmat Kumar Karki launched the campaign from Jogbani Naka on Friday.

The provincial government has declared the coming year 2082 as the year of tourism and has started this campaign to provide tourists with an easy and simple travel experience.

The campaign is going to be implemented across Koshi province after receiving complaints that the police are causing unnecessary suffering to tourists coming from India. It has been arranged that after checking vehicles with stickers once at the checkpoint, the police cannot check them at other places.

Chief Minister Karki expressed his belief that after putting the stickers, the unnecessary hassles and sufferings faced by the tourists will be removed and this will make the tourism year of Koshi region a success. "The core spirit of Nepalis is Atithi Devo Bhava, it is our responsibility to respect our guests," said Karki. He emphasized that economic prosperity and development will be possible if tourism year is successful.

Internal Affairs and Law Minister Revathiraman Bhandari informed that such vehicles will be re-examined only if there is a very sensitive information from the security point of view. In the

program, Tourism, Forest and Environment Minister Sadanand Mandal also urged everyone to promote development and prosperity through tourism.

The Koshi state government has made arrangements to stick stickers at Pashupatinagar, Kakadvitta, Vantabari and Jogbani crossings from Baisakh 1. This work has been carried forward by setting up a small office with police and staff.
