A bridge under construction collapsed when the rain blocked the hump pipe

The under-construction concrete bridge connecting Simanpur and Kalyanpur in Katari Municipality-2 of Udaipur under Siddicharan Lokmarg has been damaged. The bridge which is being constructed under pre-stead technology on the Amah River in Simanpur broke down and was damaged due to heavy rain on Thursday morning.

Mahesh Shah, engineer of the Mirchaiya-Katari-Ghurmi road project, said that the construction of the bridge, which was completed on Chait 8th, was about to be completed. He said that the bridge was broken when the 50-meter long and 11-meter wide hydraulic pipe was blocked and the accumulated water overflowed. According to him, it was only 20 days since the slope started.

Surya & Sun Dharan took charge of the four bridges under the said road section on 29th June 2079 for a lump sum of 28 crores 99 lakhs 52 thousand to complete the construction in 2 years. At Taraghari in Katari, the 'foundation' of the bridge is yet to be raised, while the bridges at Giddebar, Taraghari and Simanpur are under construction.

After the bridge of Simanpur was damaged while the construction was not completed, the locals have to suffer in the rain again this time. Pashupati Gyawali, head of the Mirchaiya-Katari-Ghurmi road project, said, "It was not expected that there would be rain in this weather, and the bridge was damaged when the sudden rain brought floods." He said that the broken bridge should be built by the construction company.

Project engineer Mahesh Shah said that the project's engineer Mahesh Shah said that the EIA for the upgrade and expansion of the 72 km long Mirchaiya-Katari-Ghurmi road was approved by the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Finance was late. According to the report, it is estimated that about 9 billion 47 crores will be required for road upgrading.  Under the

scheme, 4 long bridges and 7 small bridges, 289 pipe culverts, 8 box culverts, 26 slab culverts and 5 causeways will have to be constructed.
