The three rural municipalities of the district have expressed serious objection to the fact that Taplejung district was not included in the transformational program of the three municipalities and the province in the tourism development project based on footpaths in Koshi province. The village chairperson, vice chairperson and chief administrative officer, including Maiwakhola and Mikwakhola, who had a joint meeting in Meringden Rural Municipality, also drew the attention of the provincial government.

According to the bilateral agreement of the Nepal and Swiss governments, it has been expressed regret that Taplejung municipality has not been included in the tourism development project based on the Koshi province footpath that will be operated from this year. It is mentioned that Maivakhola, Meringden and Mikwakhola Rural Municipality should be included in this project. It is proposed that this municipality should also be included in the Laligunras footpath under this project.

It is mentioned that 29 local levels of Koshi will be connected to the geographical area in the Laliguran footpath. It is one hundred and sixty kilometers. These three municipalities of the district are areas covered by Laligunras. "We express serious objection to the project proposed by the Ministry of Tourism, Forestry and Environment of the provincial government, which violates the legal system of cost sharing, royalty distribution and the use of local natural resources," the joint statement said.

During the construction of this footpath project, it is planned to connect Jalajle, Tin Pokhari, Sodupokhari Topkegola, Olangchung Gola to the Laliguran footpath. Now it has Tumlingtar,  Khandbari, Noom, Gufapokhari, Basantpur, Jaljale, Tinjure, Milke have been kept up to standards.

Similarly, in the second periodic plan created by Koshi province, serious attention has been drawn to the fact that Taplejung district was not included while selecting 19 transformative programs of the province. It has been requested not to be left out in the transformative program as there is a great potential of biological diversity and natural resources and the projects to be conducted here will help the economic growth of the entire province.

The heads of the three municipalities have also committed to coordinate and cooperate with each other in the field of natural disaster management. Maivakhola rural municipality chairman Vijayprakash Vanem, Yuk Han Bir Hangam (Damber) of Meringden and Bahadur Karki, a devotee of Mikwakhola, have also published a joint statement.
