28-year-old Pratima Sambahamfe, who was injured in a fire in Kummayak village of the district, has died. Kaushal Kumar Budathoki, Deputy Superintendent of Police, District Police Office, Panchthar, informed that while being taken to the hospital for treatment, she was seriously injured in a fire in the Kummayak-3 Tamrakhu forest and died on the way.
She was rescued from the burnt place and sent to Dharan for treatment. She died on reaching Bhedetar in Dhankuta.
Local 28-year-old Sapna Sambahamfe, her 11-year-old daughter Sivana Sambahamfe and 60-year-old Nirmaya Sambahamfe were taken to BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan for treatment. Their condition is also serious.
Ditto Kummayak-1 31-year-old Khagendra Vishwakarma, who went to extinguish the fire in the pit, fell and got injured.
47-year-old Ushakala Rai Nembang, who was injured in the fire in Fidim Municipality 13, has also been sent to Dharan for treatment. The police said that his condition is also worrying.
