5 civilians were injured while extinguishing forest fire in different places of Kummayak Rural Municipality and Fidim Municipality of the district. According to District Police Office Panchthar, 4 people were injured in the fire that was set in the private forest of local residents including Amarsingh Thapa and Padam Khadka of Kummayak-3 Tamrakhu.

28-year-old local Sambahamfe, his 11-year-old daughter Siwana Sambahamfe, 22-year-old Pratima Sambahamfe and 60-year-old Nirmaya Sambahamfe were injured in the fire. 

On Thursday afternoon, while they were looking for grass and firewood, they were burnt when they fell into a fire that had spread from the bottom of the forest, according to the police. Binalal Sah, Information Officer of District Police Office Panchthar informed that among the injured, the condition of Pratima is serious. All four injured people were rescued from the burning place and sent to BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan, Sunsari for further treatment.

Fidim-13 A 47-year-old local Ushakala Nembang Rai was seriously injured in the fire that broke out in the forest of Joubari on Thursday afternoon. 

Nembang, who was caught in a fire while going to look for firewood in the forest, got burnt in most of his body, after initial treatment at Panchthar Hospital, he was sent to BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan for further treatment, according to the police.
