26 houses of 9 families have been destroyed due to fire in Vasantpur located in Harinagar rural municipality-5 of Sunsari.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Yograj Khatiwada of District Police Office Sunsari informed that 26 houses were destroyed by the fire that started from Sabir Mia's kitchen at 3 o'clock on Monday afternoon.
3 houses were demolished to prevent the fire from spreading. According to the police, the fire was brought under control in 1 and a half hours with the help of fire brigades from Sunsari's Inaruwa, Harinagar, Duhabi and Itahari. Although there was no human loss due to the fire, the clothes, cash, jewelry and food of the house were completely burnt.
Local journalist Naseem Ansari informed that Harinagar Rural Municipality Chairman Haji Ghafar Ansari has provided basic relief to the families affected by the fire.
