Journalists of Panchthar protested because journalists were killed in the royalist movement. By organizing a protest program through the Panchthar branch of the Federation of Nepalese Journalists, active journalists in the district condemned the incident of burning journalists alive at the workplace.

Journalists who gathered at the Republic Chowk in Fidim prayed for the peace of the soul of journalist Suresh Rajak, who was killed during the protest of the ex-royalists, and demanded that whoever was involved in the killing be brought to justice after a judicial investigation of the incident. Speaking at the

program, the speakers commented that the incident was repeated again and again because the state could not be responsible for the safety of journalists. Ganesh Sampang, Central Member of Samajwadi Press Organization, Madan Thapa, President of Press Chautari Panchthar, Khabin Luintel, President of Press Union Panchthar, Lakshmi Gautam, Former President of Federation of Journalists, Lakshmi Gautam and Branch President Bhimkumar Banskota spoke at the

event. They also condemned the attack on media houses including Kantipur Television and Annapurna Post in the name of agitation.
