In Taplejung, which has a population of 120,000, 73,882 people have applied for national identity cards. In the previous financial year, 69,509 people registered. According to the District Administration Office, 4,284 people have registered by the end of February of this financial year.

Since the government has made its use compulsory in every job from social security allowance, the number of service users has increased significantly.

According to Sandipa Khadka, Information Officer and Assistant Chief District Officer of the Administration Office, even now, the largest number of customers is in this branch. According to the administration office, only 1,825 people have taken the card till the end of February.
