39-year-old Lal Bahadur Sarki of Taplejung, who lives in a camp at Narayandal Chowk, Kankai Municipality-5 of Jhapa, killed his wife with a machete.
According to the information provided by the local police, Lal Bahadur tried to commit suicide by slitting his own throat after killing his wife, 40-year-old Manisha. He is seriously injured and is being treated at Biandsi Hospital in Birtamod.
According to police sources, there was an argument in the middle of the night due to family matters. After the dispute became fierce, Lal Bahadur hit Manisha.
'It seems that Manisha was killed due to a dispute over her ex-husband's phone conversation', a police source said.
According to Surendra Sarki, brother of the injured, although Lal Bahadur was admitted to the hospital for treatment, the treatment has not started due to lack of funds. "The hospital says it takes a lot of money", he said on the phone, "We don't have that much money, we don't know where to get it from".
