Dhankuta municipality has been declared as a municipality with full vaccination coverage. The announcement was made on the basis that all the children in the urban area between the ages of 16 and 23 months have been vaccinated according to the national vaccination schedule.
The government has been providing vaccinations against 13 types of diseases including tuberculosis, measles, whooping cough and whooping cough to children within 15 months of birth.
This year, 356 children between 16 and 23 months of age in Dhankuta Nagar area have been given these vaccines, informed Bhojraj Bhandari, head of the health department of the municipality. Dhankuta municipality was first declared a fully vaccinated municipality in 2071.
Since then, the municipality has been declared fully vaccinated by ensuring that children of the target age group have been vaccinated every year.
He also signed a letter of commitment to continue the work of ensuring complete vaccination in the coming year. On that occasion, Dhankuta 4 Ward President Jamser Rai, Chief Administrative Officer Dasharath Rai and others urged the parents to develop the habit of vaccinating their children on time.
