The women's team from Sindhupalchok, who set out on the 1700 km long Great Himalayan Trail trek, was welcomed and bid farewell at Taplejung headquarters, Fungling.

Some hoteliers of the capital Fungling have welcomed and bid farewell to Hotel Paris. They walked from Kathmandu four days ago and returned to the headquarters on Sunday evening after visiting Pathibhara.

They are heading towards Kanchenjunga on the trail route from Monday. Maya Gurung, who led the team to discuss tourism issues with Rajan Limbu, chairman of Paktanglung Rural Municipality on Monday, gave the information. 

They will go to Sankhuwasabha, passing Lumwasumwa and passing Lumwasumwa through the base camp at the Kanchenjunga base camp, the third highest mountain in the world. Locals in Ghunsa, Olangchungola and other areas have prepared to welcome them. 

The team will visit 17 districts during the journey to reach Darchula in 100 days. The team consists of women aged 19 to 43. On Monday, Gurung informed that they will travel to Sekathum in Tapethok by car and then start trekking.
