A 'Fight Against Narcotics' campaign has been launched in Koshi province to control the growing problem of drugs.

Chief Minister Hikmat Kumar Karki inaugurated the campaign launched by the Koshi Police Office with the slogan 'Next War, Against Addiction' in Itahari on Wednesday morning.

This campaign has been carried forward in all 14 districts of the province with the aim of establishing 'fan clubs' at the school level and making them aware of children, families and communities, informed Deputy Inspector General of Police Rajan Adhikari of Koshi Province Police Office Biratnagar.

The anti-addiction campaign that started in Sunsari 6 years ago has been extended to the entire Koshi province since Wednesday. Officer Koshi, who conceived and implemented the campaign when he was the police chief of Sunsari, made the campaign state-wide. The DIG officer said that this campaign, which was carried out under the

community police partnership program, was supported by the state and local levels in the annual action plan.

Chief Minister Hikmat Kumar Karki said that this campaign is playing a big role in the field of drug prevention and control and said that it will help in solving the problem of addiction.
