Tikaram Acharya has been elected as the president of Panchthar Bahira Sangh. A 7-member ad-hoc committee was formed under the chairmanship of Acharya at a gathering in Phidim.

Manisha Rai has been elected as the vice president of the committee, Mamta Angdembe as the secretary, Dina Rai as the joint secretary, Vishal Tamang as the treasurer, Manubhakta Rai, Ashok Nemwang as members. 

The association has given the ad-hoc committee the task of holding the district convention after registration in the Deaf Federation along with the registration in the District Administration Office and Social Welfare Council within 3 months. The 4-month Nepali Sign Language basic training organized by

federation has also been completed. Speaking at the closing program, Mayor Mitra Prasad Kafle of Fidim municipality said that the training has helped the deaf to access communication.
