A man from Jhapa, who was burnt during the fire, died during treatment on Sunday. Mechigar Municipal Ward No. 4 Birendraraj Rai, a 51-year-old resident of Amdangi, died during treatment at Birat Nursing Home Biratnagar, police said.
On February 9, at 9:10 pm, a fire broke out in the pooja room of his house due to an electrical short. While fighting the fire, Rai suffered severe burns on both his hands, legs and face. After the
incident, he was taken to B&C Hospital in Birtamod for initial treatment. Later he was admitted to Virat Nasing Home for further treatment and he died during treatment.
