The production of the 21.93 MW Kabeli 3 hydropower project will start within the first week of March. According to the project, the electricity construction work to be produced in Sirijanga Rural Municipality has reached its final stage.
Meghnath Dhungana, public relations officer of the project, said that the construction work has reached its final stage. "We are preparing to start electricity by the first week of next March," he said. Its construction is being done by Kabeli Hydropower Company Limited.
The work started from January 2079 to be completed by mid-March. The project site is located in Sirijanga-5 Pedang, Ward No. 6 Mamangkhe and Ward No. 7 Khebang. Through the border of Mamangkhe and Khebang, Vahne Othamma has been taken to the power house through a 5.128 km tunnel. The electricity produced here is connected to Nepal Electricity Authority's 132 kVA Amarpur substation. It is located in Hilihang Rural Municipality of Panchthar.
Siddhant Thapaliya, senior engineer of the project to deliver the transmission line from the power plant through 31 tower poles, informed. Dhungana said that the total cost of the
project is 4 billion 285 million. Electricity is produced in partnership with NMB, Prabhu and Nabil Bank Limited. The production of 13.5 MW Super Kabeli 'A' and 12 MW capacity Super Kabeli has already started from this river.
