A man was found dead in Meringden rural municipality-2 Santakra of the district. Local 40-year-old Dipesh Kedem was found dead on the road, said Ward President Tej Kumar Chongbang.
According to Chongbang, the deceased was found on the Amchok road section of Santakra. Locals have speculated that he was hit by a vehicle after looking at the nature of the scene where he was found dead.
It is assumed that the incident may have happened on Tuesday night. The head and abdomen of the deceased were injured. According to District Police Office Taplejung, the police have started an investigation.
