It has been confirmed that the problem seen in students of Meringden Rural Municipality 5 Thukimwa is 'Influenza A'. As 80 percent of the students are recovering, the principal said that the school will operate from Wednesday.

After most of the students and teachers of Tribhuvan Secondary and Janjyoti Basic Schools fell ill, the rural municipality took a leave for five days and conducted a health check-up.

Lab Technician Inspector Uday Narayan Dulal of District Health Office Taplejung informed that 10 of 16 people were tested positive for 'Influenza A'.

According to Meringden rural municipality health branch, in coordination with the district health office, the patient's swab was collected and sent to director public health laboratory Biratnagar. According to Tribhuvan Mavi Principal Kamal Limbu, regular classes will be held from Wednesday.

'80 percent of the students have recovered,' Principal Limbu said, 'After the report that this is a common problem, everyone's morale has increased, now we will start school.'

This is a problem caused by cold. Limbu said that when the student was sick, it was cold in this area and there was no sunlight for many days.

He said that since the younger students study in Janjyoti and the older ones come to Tribhuvan Mavi, they moved to both schools at once. According to the village council, most of the villagers were also sick. As soon as the information was received, the health workers were mobilized and it was decided to close the school as well, said Yuk Hanvir Hangam, chairman of the rural municipality. According to

doctor, this infection causes fever, cough, sore throat, headache, nasal congestion, sinus discharge, joint and muscle pain, and fatigue. It is very active in the winter months and can be seen in any age group. When speaking, coughing, sneezing, the virus spreads if it gets into the nose or mouth of a close person.

In such a situation, keep a physical distance from sick people, stay at home when sick as much as possible, cover your mouth and nose properly when you cough or sneeze, wash your hands with soapy water, be physically active and drink plenty of fluids.

This kind of problem was seen earlier in the school of Paktanglung rural municipality 6 Lelep and the school was closed.
