2 branch offices of Likhupike Rural Municipality of Solukhumbu have been burnt. A fire broke out in a private house where the Prime Minister's Employment Branch, Infrastructure Branch of the rural municipality is located around 1 pm on Sunday. The fire broke out in the upper floor of a 2-storey house with a stone, mud and tin roof belonging to local Rudra Bahadur Khatri. The initial assumption of the police is that the fire was caused by an electrical short.
Mina Karki Basnet, chairman of the rural municipality, said that there was no electricity for two to three days due to the pole falling due to the wind and today, the office caught fire as soon as the electricity came on.
The fire has now been brought under control due to the activity of locals, public representatives and the police. District Police Office Solukhumbu Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Dharika Prasad Ghimire said that more details of the damage are being collected.
