As the spring season of tourism approaches, the influx of tourists has started in the Khumbu region, where the highest peak of the world is Mount Everest. On the first day of the spring season (March-May), 166 foreign tourists entered Tenzing Hillary Airport Lukla on Saturday alone through 18 flights.
166 foreign tourists including 97 men and 69 women landed at Lukla airport through planes and helicopters of various private companies. On Saturday, 6 flights were made by Tara Air, 4 by Sita Air, 3 by Summit Air and 5 by helicopter. 18 flights were made. DSP Dwarika Prasad Ghimire informed that 53 foreign tourists went out on the first day of the
season. According to him, the weather at Lukla airport was clear from morning to afternoon. Nirajan Sharma, a tourism businessman, said that the foreign tourists who came in during the snowfall in Khumbu region started enjoying the snow.
Since spring is the main season for mountain climbing, more tourists come to the Khumbu region for climbing in this season. Foreigners come to climb high mountains like Everest, Lhotse, Amadablam, Choyu and even some small peaks. Recently, the attraction of foreign nationals in mountain climbing is increasing.
