135 dogs have been sterilized in Panchthar. Niroj Kumar Bhattarai, Information Officer of the Veterinary Hospital and Animal Services Expert Center informed that 52 of those sterilized were community pets and 83 were pets.
Similarly, 195 dogs have been vaccinated against rabies. According to Bhattarai, camps were conducted on Thursday and Friday to sterilize and vaccinate dogs to control rabies. Nepal Agri Livestock Training and Research Center in Itahari provided technical support for sterilization of dogs.
Fifteen technicians including four expert doctors were employed to sterilize the dog. Before the start of the
camp, the locals were told to bring the dogs they had kept in their homes through a public notice.
