In Phalelung rural municipality 6 Barbhanjyang, Ransher Gana of Nepali Army in Fidim has built a helipad and handed it over to the locals. Earlier, there was not a single helipad in this village.

Ganapati Niraj Pratap Rana informed that along with rescue during calamities and emergencies, helipads have been constructed and handed over to the locals to strengthen civil-military relations by transporting relief materials from helicopters to the affected areas.

Phalelung rural municipality is on the list of high risk of disasters such as floods, landslides and fires. Meanwhile, according to Rana, a helipad has been constructed so that MI helicopters can land with night landing facility at the request of local bodies and citizens of Phalelung.

With the construction of the helipad, Phalelung 6 Ward President Amarveer Rai expressed the belief that from now on, the injured and crippled citizens will be helped in the relief and rescue along with reducing the possible damage caused by the risk of labor pains.

Ganpati Rana handed over the newly constructed helipad to Ward President Rai on Tuesday, referring to Mahashivratri festival and 'Soldier's Day'. 14 soldiers from Ransher Gana worked continuously for 11 days to build the helipad.

"The helipad has been constructed to ease the transportation of relief materials along with rescue of pregnant women and women in remote areas who are at risk of life in remote areas under the President's Airlift Program for future disasters, health-related complications," said Ganpati Rana.
