Teachers affiliated to the Nepal Teachers' Federation Sankhuwasabha have protested against the draft of the Federal Education Act with various demands.

The teachers took out a protest rally at various places of Khandbari city on Friday and submitted a memorandum to the Education Coordination Unit. The Nepal Teachers' Federation started a protest after the state neglected teachers, school staff, child teachers and other professionals working in the education sector and did not include them in the draft of the Education Act in accordance with the agreement on professional rights and interests. Chairman Sher Bahadur Puri said.

They allege that teachers have been discriminated against in the ranks of civil servants. The protesting teachers have demanded that temporary, contract, and relief teachers should be brought to the post and guaranteed employment with service facilities.
