Three houses have been destroyed in Halesi market due to fire. Acting Chief District Officer Hiradhan Rai informed that three houses were completely damaged and one house was partially damaged due to the fire that started from the gas shop of local Padmasher Rai around seven o'clock on Sunday evening.

According to him, Padmasher's house with hardware shop, Prakashchandra Giri's hotel with Halesi Darshan restaurant, Airakh Rai's house with Kalyan hotel have been completely burnt down. Apart from this, Bharan Rai's Paruhang Hotel and house were also partially damaged, Rai said. Rai said that detailed damage details are yet to come. "So far, shops and hotels in three houses have been completely damaged, one house and hotel have been partially damaged," Rai said, "Detailed damage details have not been received." Rai said that around 500 people including Ranbhim Gana Mudhe Barracks, Armed Police Force No. 7 Halesi Gulm, Nepal Police, District Administration, Local Level, and locals were deployed to control the fire. Rai said that since there was no fire engine, water was brought from tractors, tankers, utensils etc. to control the fire. "There was no fire engine, the fire was extinguished by carrying water from tractors, tankers of the road department, even from local utensils," Rai said.

Halesi Tuwatchung Municipality head Vimala Rai said that there is a problem in controlling the fire because there is no fire brigade in Halesi Tuwatchung Municipality. "There was no fire engine in our town, the fire engine of Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi municipality was also damaged, there was no driver to operate the fire engine of Okhaldhunga, then the fire engines of Udaipur Katari and Bhojpur municipalities were called, but they stopped after the fire was brought under control," she said.

There was no human loss in the fire. "But many people were injured during the control," Rai said.
