Gala International Kathmandu won the Mahalakshmi Cup open men's volleyball tournament held at Jeetpur in Dhankuta.

Gala won the title in the final match of the club-level national volleyball tournament organized on the occasion of Vasant Panchami festival. Gala defeated the host Global Club Dhankuta by 3-2 sets and won two lakh two thousand two hundred twenty two hundred two hundred and twenty two hundred cash and a trophy along with the title. Likewise, the runner-up team settled for one lakh one thousand one hundred and eleven rupees. 

The Mahalakshmi Cup was organized by the Sports Committee from January 18. Naren Tumsa, president of the organizing organization, informed that nine different clubs of the country are participating in the competition. Mahalakshmi Municipality and District Volleyball Association have supported various organizations to conduct the competition.  Distributing prizes in the

competition, Mahalakshmi Municipality chief Dhruvraj Rai said that volleyball is a nationwide sports activity.
