The Lakshminarayan Temple in Dhankuta Municipality-4 Debrebas was stolen on Saturday night. By breaking the lock of the main door of the temple, about fifteen thousand cash in the donation box was stolen.

Priest Ambika Prasad Adhikari said that the police was informed when the lock was broken while going for puja in the morning. He said that the idols and other materials in the temple are safe.

This was also stolen from three nearby temples within a week, the police said. District Police Chief SP Shyamsingh Chaudhary informed that the investigation into the incident is ongoing. Even earlier, the Shiva temple in Dhankuta-4 Debrebas and the Saraswati temple in Salleri were stolen.

According to SP Chowdhury, only on Saturday, a person involved in the robbery was arrested from the main place of Dhankuta market on January 10th. He said that he was arrested from Dharan. Police arrested Akash Sohni of Dhankuta-7. 'The incidents of serial theft have increased in Dhankuta. The police are investigating,' he said.
