The Jogwani-Kimathanka road of national pride connecting China, Nepal and India has been 'break through'. The Khandwari-Kimathanka road that connects China and India has been connected to the network after being paved.
Energy Minister Deepak Khadka said that 10 and a half kilometers of the Chamtang-Ghonghoppa section of the Khandbari-Kimathanka road under the Koshi highway has been completed after the Nepali Army broke the rock pile.
A team including Energy Minister Khadka, Physical Infrastructure and Transport Minister Devendra Dahal, Defense Minister Manveer Rai and former MP Rajendra Gautam reached Ghonghoppa and made a 'break through'. Along with this, the road will be upgraded and widened, he said.
In this section, the army has completed the road construction of 10.5 km of double land. On the other hand, 134 km road has been constructed from the headquarters Khandbari to Chamtang. Already, the unpaved track of 14 km road from Kimathanka to Ghonghoppa had been opened. The distance of Khandbari-Kimathanka road is 158 km according to North South Koshi road plan.
Minister Khadka said that with the connection of Khandbari-Kimathanka road, it will play an important role in tri-national transportation. He mentioned that Bangladesh can benefit from Nepal, India and China after the road connecting the tri-national border becomes operational. He requested the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure to allocate the necessary budget for the upgrading of roads.
Defense Minister Rai said that the road being constructed by the Nepali Army is an important infrastructure for the development of the country. He also thanked the Nepali Army saying that the task of opening the road tank was completed ahead of time.
Minister of Physical Infrastructure and Transport Dahal said that the lack of budget will not be allowed to complete the rest of the road section. He mentioned that the government will allocate the necessary budget for the construction of the bridge on that road section .
