A woman died in a road accident that happened on Tuesday at Buddhashanti Rural Municipality-4 Happen Chowk of Jhapa under the Mechi Highway. Four people were injured in the accident.
Pr 1-01-001 J 3851 going towards Ilam from Charali Bolero and P 1-01-002 H 363 coming from the opposite direction collided into each other and the accident took place.
Ganesh Paudel, head of District Traffic Police Office Birtamod, informed that the deceased was 27-year-old Amrita Tamang of Buddhshanti-4, who was riding in an autorickshaw. She was taken to the Provincial Hospital Bhadrapur in a critical condition and the doctor declared her dead at 12:00 noon.
Jeep driver Dilkumar Thami, 40, of Mechinagar Municipality-12, Kritika Tamang, 21, of Buddhashanti-4, and Manju Tamang, 41, who were riding in the autorickshaw, were injured in the accident. They are being treated at City Hospital on Wednesday. The police have detained the autorickshaw driver, 53-year-old Ajay Moktan, and are investigating.
