Representatives of two big Chinese companies have come to Biratnagar to study the possibility of investing in hydropower and tourism in Koshi province. They came here on Thursday after making a 10-day tour schedule.
An 11-member team led by Wang Zhi Zhang from China Power Company and Cine Hydro Company arrived in Biratnagar.
The welcome program held in Biratnagar was attended by various ministers, public representatives and government officials of Koshi province. Speaking at a formal event held at Hotel Big, team leader Zhang said that he wants to invest in Nepal.
Provincial Home Affairs and Law Minister Revathiraman Bhandari said that the Chinese team is willing to work especially in the water resources and tourism sectors. In the meeting with Chief Minister Hikmat Kumar Karki on Friday morning, the team reiterated that they are willing to work in the tourism and hydropower sectors as an investment environment.
The team that came to visit Nepal with the approval of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will visit various areas of Koshi Province. A government official informed that the team is scheduled to reach Kimathanga in Sankhuwasabha, which is located in the border area of China.
