A business worth one and a half million has been made at the Sampan Food Festival in Bhedetar, a tourist spot. During the festival held for three days from last January 16, the turnover was less than the target.
Tulraj Limbu, president of the association, said that the goal of the festival, which was organized by Hotel Association Vedetaar, is to have a financial transaction of at least two crores. At the
food festival, stalls with various ethnic original food dishes, handicrafts and agricultural materials were kept. Likewise, 40,000 domestic and foreign tourists participated in the festival. Limbu informed that significant number of tourists have also come from various provinces of neighboring India. Throughout the
festival, arrangements were made to tour tourists by making packages of nearby tourist spots. According to the organizers, this year's festival was not as successful as expected.
