Sheela Izam Rai has been elected as the President of the Board of Directors of Pathibhara Multipurpose Campus. Izam got 18 votes in the election held on Saturday. His competitor Kumar Maden got 12 votes. There were 36 voters in the campus meeting. 30 votes were lost.
In the Campus Assembly, there is a provision that the members of the House of Representatives and the State Assembly, the head of the district coordination committee, the head of all the local levels of the district, and the members of the board of directors will be voters. All the MPs of the House of Representatives and the State Assembly were present for voting, while the heads of the local level also participated. Here they entered the competition on a party basis. Izam is Congress and Maden is UML. Votes also fell in the same way. Congress and Maoists had an alliance in the election. Among the members of the
committee, the winners were Geeta Sendang who got 27 votes, Maia Neupane 17, Prithvi Prasad Maden 17, and Teknath Adhikari 19 votes. On behalf of Dalit intellectuals, Santosh Kumar Sarki was elected unopposed. There is a provision that the president can nominate three members. Established in 2047, the leadership of the campus management committee was previously all men.
There is a provision that to be a campus president, one must be a member of the campus assembly and must have passed the graduation level. Earlier, there was a provision that the campus would recommend three names and the Vice Chancellor of Tribhuvan University would appoint one person.
