District Administration Office Khotang has provided disability ID card along with certificate of Nepali citizenship to people with physical disabilities in Ainselukhark Rural Municipality.

The district administration office has provided this service to people with complete physical disabilities under the initiative and management of the rural municipality.

According to Girendra Bahadur Rai, Chairman of Ainselukhark Rural Municipality, the team of District Administration Office Khotang spent three days going door to door to provide citizenship to people with complete physical disabilities. "Physically disabled people had to be deprived of citizenship because they could not reach the administration," he said. 

On Saturday, 21-year-old Salina Rai and 41-year-old Deepak Rai of Ainselukhark-2 Rakhabangdel were given citizenship certificates based on the recommendation of the people's representatives of the rural municipality. Leela Bahadur Bishwakarma, officer of the permanent branch of the administration, said that four people from Jaleshwari were also given citizenship certificates in the same way.

21-year-old Kamal Prasad Adhikari, 19-year-old Sujan Puri, 50-year-old Junmayan Rai and 25-year-old Bhakta Tamang of Jaleswari were granted citizenship at home. Similarly, 20-year-old Bhanubhakta Rai and 50-year-old Kalimayan Rai of Rakhabangdel have also been given citizenship certificates at home.

Chief District Officer Shiv Kumar Karki, chief and representative of security agencies, local people's representatives and other teams visited the homes of the disabled people and distributed citizenship and disability identity cards. According to the statistics of National Census 2078, there are 4,922 people with physical disabilities of various nature in 10 local levels of the district. Among them, 532 people are hearing impaired people according to the District Handicapped Service Association Khotang.
