7 lakh 68 thousand for seven students

7 lakh 68 thousand rupees scholarship has been provided to 7 students from remote Paktanglung and Sirijungha Rural Municipality of the district for higher education studies.

The first one was distributed by Rural Education and Environment Development Center (RID) Nepal with the support of Himalayan Trust UK, an organization founded by George Bend, a British citizen who climbed Kanchenjunga Himal. 

Srishti Rai from Sirijanga Rural Municipality-8 Yamfudin and Arjun Limbu from Phattanglung Rural Municipality 5 Tapethok for three years of technical education are among the recipients of this year's scholarship. Nishma Sherpa from Paktanglung 6 Lelep and Petisa Dahal from Sirijunga 7 Khewang are for the two-year science faculty.

Two-year Education-Humanities and Management Faculty of Phattanglung 4 Ikhabuka Bandana Limbu and Soni Limbu and Sirijanga  Rajendra Pant, manager of Reed Nepal, said that Brinda Mavo Limbu of Mamangkhe is 6. All their class 11th and 12th fees are provided by Read Nepal. 

Reed has so far awarded scholarships to 94 students for higher education studies. Scholarships are given to Jehendar and low income students from 12 years. According to Pant, 82 lakh 24 thousand has been distributed so far. Students who have received

scholarship are required to volunteer at least 2 months in a school or community in their area after higher education studies. Read Nepal has been conducting educational reform programs in these two municipalities for 16 years.
