Hume pipe in Dudhkoshi, Khumbu area connected to road network

Khumbu Pasang Lhamu rural municipality has been connected to the road network again with the installation of hume pipe in Dudhkoshi river.

The road network which was severed after the Miteri bridge was half swept away by the flood that occurred in Thame on July 32, was reconnected on Saturday after the hume pipe was laid. 

Mapyadudhkoshi Rural Municipality 1 and Solududhakunda municipality of Orlanghat located on the border of Mapyadudhkoshi Rural Municipality 1 and a temporary hump pipe was placed in the Dudhkoshi River and connected to the Khumbu road after 4 months. 3 local levels partnered to open the temporary road. Solududhakunda municipality managed the land for digging the road track to the place where the hume pipe will be placed, while Mapyadudhkoshi rural municipality did the 3 km road digging and Khumbu Pasang Lhamu rural municipality did the hume pipe laying. 

Mapyadudhkoshi rural municipality chairman Budhikiran Rai said that the three municipalities have temporarily opened the vehicular movement after the flood damaged the bridge. "After four months of tireless efforts, the work of connecting the Khumbu area with the road network has been completed from Saturday," he said, "Today, a bus has entered Khumbu easily." 

Namgelzangbu Sherpa, the head of Solududhakund Municipality, said that after the citizens of Khumbu area were alienated from road transport, the municipality facilitated the land management by considering the problems of the people.
