A settlement of Solududhakund municipality-11 Tingla is at risk due to the dry landslides that occurred during winter. Since last one week, continuous landslides in Sarelokchaur above Solukhola have swept away 200 ropani of agricultural land and the entire settlement is at high risk.

At that location above the Solu River, about 1 km of land was washed away by a landslide, which started affecting the settlement.

Half a dozen families have become landless when the fields where they were planting rice were washed away. Ward President Tank Karki said that although a landslide occurred in the area where the soil from the tunneling of the Lower Solu Hydropower Project (82 MW) was stored, it was not certain whether the landslide was caused by the hydropower project itself or some other reason.

The tunnel of the hydropower project is located in the area near the landslide. After the landslide, the residents of that area have not been able to sleep safely for 5 days. They are under a lot of stress after the farm was destroyed due to the landslide. "My 25 muri paddy field was all washed away, I did not keep a single piece of land and made squatters," said Chitrakumari Karki, a 71-year-old woman who was affected by the landslide. Landslide has torn the ground right up to his yard. "It's been a long sleepless night," said Karki. The house of Bir Bahadur Karki of the said village is also in a state of being pulled by the landslide. "All the land that I have earned by suffering all my life has been washed away by the landslide," he said, "Even a house that was there has been destroyed today, now I am only worried about where to live and what to eat." Local Ramchandra Karki said that he did not go. Locals estimate that the landslide may have occurred due to the change in the flow of the Solu River due to the flood that occurred on October 12. After the landslide that started on November 5 reached the village, the locals lost their sleep. Landslides have washed away the land of Chaur and Fant. "Due to the negligence of hydropower, we were uprooted," Gopal Karki, a local affected by the landslide, said, "Now our entire settlement has to be moved to a safe place."

Ward president Karki said that at least 100 families are at high risk due to the landslide. "Now the management of the ward is not under the control of the ward, we cannot do anything even if we want to, it seems that the federal government should take the lead," said the ward president Karki. Solududhakund municipality said that they will soon call a team of geologists to study the land on site. Namgelzangbu Sherpa, the city head, said that after the study by the geologist, he will come to the conclusion about the relocation of the settlement.

Chief District Officer Anoj Kumar Ghimire said that a report has been sent to the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Disaster Management Authority for alternative sustainable management of the settlement. "There is nothing that can be done immediately, I have taken the initiative in writing to the ministry for its sustainable management," said Prazia Ghimire, "security personnel have been deployed and arrangements have been made for continuous monitoring of the affected area to prevent human casualties."
