Vidur Lingthep has been appointed as the chief whip of UML Koshi region. Lingthep, who was elected to the state assembly from Sankhuwasabha 1 (2), was appointed as the chief whip by Chief Minister and UML parliamentary party leader Hikmat Kumar Karki on Monday.
Chief Whip Chief Minister's Press Coordinator Vikram Luintel said that Lingthep was appointed to the vacant post after Revathiraman Bhandari was appointed as Minister of Internal Affairs and Law on Monday.
Lingthep is the former mayor of Madi Municipality of Sankhuwasabha. He has been active in communist politics since his student life.
