Revathiraman Bhandari, a member of the UML provincial assembly, has been appointed as the Minister of Internal Affairs and Law of Koshi Province. On the recommendation of Chief Minister Hikmat Karki, the provincial chief appointed Bhandari as a minister.

The swearing in of the newly appointed Minister Bhandari is scheduled at 5:30 pm on Monday. Bhandari informed that he has been appointed as a minister and preparations are being made for the oath.

Bhandari said that after receiving the responsibility of the minister, he will create the laws that are yet to be made in Koshi province, and create the necessary regulations to implement the law.

He also said that if a new law needs to be made, he will take the initiative through the provincial assembly. Similarly, Bhandari said that since the Ministry of Transport of Koshi Province is handled by the Minister of Internal Affairs, he will take initiatives to make the transport sector transparent, professional and advanced.

The then Minister of Home Affairs of Koshi Province Lilabalab Adhikari was involved in controversy after taking three youths to Japan without authorization. He was deported from the airport in Japan and returned to Nepal. After that he resigned from the post of minister.

Although the police recommended that the officer be arrested and prosecuted, the Kathmandu District Public Prosecutor's Office granted immunity.
