A 53-feet tall Buddha statue has been constructed in Miklajung Rural Municipality of Panchthar. The Koshi state government has invested 3 crore rupees to construct such a tall Buddha statue.
The idol made of metal is on Miklajung-4 Zaribute Hill. It is said that 17 tons of brass metal was used for the construction of the statue.
Indra Bahadur Angbo, the former Minister of Economic Affairs and Planning of Koshi Province and member of the Provincial Assembly, has claimed that this statue is the tallest and largest in Nepal.
The government started work on the construction of the statue from 2076. The construction work of the statue was completed on January 30, 2079, and the face of Maoist leader Agni Prasad Sapkota was compared to that of Maoist leader Agni Prasad Sapkota.
