Kammaraima patuki kerer, Musumusu laughing sitting/Rukum MakotThe eyes are good, the lips are liked

'Music has no boundaries, it is the most important', Indian playback singer Mohit Chauhan's saying, if anywhere has been most applicable in recent times, it is Makot village in Rukum. In a short period of time, if any costume has been popularized through music, it has been because of 'Rukum Makot'. Music by SD Yogi and voiced by SD and Shantisree Pariyar himself, there is another line of the song-

Toor bhi kada setai hai, mana kha kata ayoon te yatai hai / Rukum Makot,

Look closely, no, what is wrong

is not only 'typical', but the combination of the word 'scissors' has made the song 'Rukum Makot' beloved. Maotse Gurung, one of the actors of the movie 'Khusma' directed by Ashok Thapamar, said in Pokhara, 'Such timeless songs do not become sitimiti', in a meeting last February, 'Once in a while, such evergreen songs are sung, of which 'Rukum Makot' has been taken.'' Rukum Makot is a blend of traditional folk songs with modern music.

The Magar community of the Upper Rapti region, where women tie a patuki over a lungi and men fill a khukri with dap and tie a patuki on it, was once looked down upon as ``dangra-eating bhangra wearers''. 'Dangra' is a cow or bull, while 'Bhangra' is a raw cloth woven from yarn spun from the fibers of shallots and beans. Even in the cities and markets of the country, the demand for costumes seen in song scenes has increased rapidly abroad.

Anil Ranjitkar, who once worked as a volunteer worker for the United Nations, had a great desire for the costumes seen in the song, and on the occasion of reaching Makot, the local girls there sewed and dressed him in kachada (khadi), patuka, chaubandi and istkot. The song 'Rukum Makot' had an effect on that. 67-year-old Anil Pokhara is a Nepali citizen who is a non-resident Nepali citizen of Canada.

By the time this article was prepared, the singer and composer of this song, SD Yogi, has been honored with the famous music award 'Chinnalata Yuva Song Award 2081'. On the other hand, the fame of Surendra Rana, the lyricist of 'Rukum Makot', has also increased suddenly. The simple word selection and loving sentiments of the song have been rapidly globalized.

American singer Anderson said - 'Where words fail, music speaks.' This means that non-Nepali speakers may not immediately understand the meaning of the song, but love the music. The word 'Rukum Makot' slipped easily on their tongues, and they recognized the place. As long as the talk of 'Rukum Makot' has been going on, the number of people reaching Makot from every corner of Nepal has remained high. The number of people who come to Makot from Dehradun, Kalimpong, Darjeeling and other places in India is significant.

Before 'Khusma' reached the cinema hall, after the song 'Rukum Makot' started getting hype on YouTube and social media, Bam Bahadur Shahi, who was born and brought up in Makot, started the hotel under the name 'Rukum Makot Hotel' with his wife as the proprietor. Dhundiraj Pun, who worked as a teacher in Macot, established a homestay on a private level as a professional. And, the name of the homestay was 'Macot Homestay'.

Their aim is to prepare local rice dishes for those who come from abroad. As the number of guests started coming, the local hotel has added excitement to Rajin Gharti. Meera Gurung, Amrita Lama and Ramli Pun are now planning to relaunch the hotel they run Zenten. Vir Bahadur Limbu of Purveli Limbu Hotel is trying to make his lunch dishes more delicious. According to Sarita Gurung, the proprietor of 'Rukum Macot Hotel', no matter how much tea the tourists drink while staying at the hotel, they do not have to pay for it.

'Rukum Makot' managed to set a high record in the Nepali music sector by crossing 131 million (13 million 10 million) views on YouTube in a short span of 8 months. It also took the 47th position of Global Top Trending. The discussion of the song is spreading everywhere. Actor Dheeraj Magar and actress Upasana Singh Thakuri's duo has become very popular after 'Khusma' became a superhit in the song 'Rukum Makot'. Director Ashok Housier is busy writing and directing another new movie 'Jalaki'.

What a coincidence, Dheeraj got an opportunity to visit his birthplace while going to Makot to shoot 'Khusma' in the first week of Baisakh last year. He expressed his feelings on Facebook about having to leave home less than two years after his birth.

Who would want to leave the village where he was born, the place where he grew up? Due to time and circumstances, I have been away from my village for some time, but today I have come to my village after being pulled by the soil of my birth,' Dheeraj wrote passionately - 'I will try to do something for the village, society and country through the art of going. I am forever indebted for this love and respect.'

Maybe it is due to his commitment, he proved wrong to many people that 'heroes are but not artists' through 'Khusma'. As a result, his demand has increased. Dheeraj's house Putha Uttarganga rural municipality ward no. If it is Taksera of 11, the shooting location of the movie 'Khusma' starring him is Ward No. of the same rural municipality. Makot village of 1. Dheeraj's father is retired from the British Army. His whole family is living in London.

Two-thirds of the scene-shooting of the film 'Khusma' was done in Makot village. Director Ashok has the experience that although he was excited at the beginning during the shooting, he had to work hard to get the atmosphere in the last few days. As it was the yarcha season, the local community was rushing to harvest yarcha. The village was crying', Ashok believes, 'There was a festive mood to be created by framing the sketch of Dhanushwana festival of Maghe Sankranti. Thankfully, that was possible. Some parts were shot in Pokhara, Manang and Kathmandu.

The shooting location of the song 'Rukum Makot' had a significant participation of the Magar Kham community. The local community of Taksera contributed to the shooting which took three whole days. They also had Makot residents. As Dheeraj was also from Taksera, most of the people of Taksera were his relatives in that festive atmosphere. What a coincidence, director Ashok's sister Kusum Devi Thapa is from Takseravasi. Thapa, who has formed Karma-ghar Taksera in Mait-ghar Parbat district, is the incumbent federal MP from Karmthalokai constituency.

Although there are many artists in 'Khusma', in the song 'Rukum Makot', Arun Pun, Astitta Bhatchan, Khadga Bahadur Pun and Raju Regmi Magar have supported Dheeraj from the boy side. Similarly, from the girl side, Upasana is accompanied by Sharda Rai and Duisang Thing. The song features Sangeeta Thapa, Sujata Rai, Mao Zedong, Vijay Subba, Raj Thapa Kaucha and Vivesh Magar. In the scene, the actors Raj and Vijay are wearing a pile of bhangra. Women are wearing gada, choli, lungi and tied patuki, while men are wearing choubandi and eastcoat and tied patuki at the back.

Kabaraj Rasaili, a resident of Makot, who has been trading patukas for men for the past three years, said that due to the song, there has been an unimaginable increase in the sale of patukas. It is said that the demand for it has increased significantly in Ghorahi, Pokhara, Kathmandu, Butwal, Nepalgunj and other cities. It is said that Patuki for women is also being consumed in fancy shops where cultural clothing is available. There is a similar demand for Khadi, which is worn by Dheeraj Paksha. Khadi is a handloom woven cotton cloth. The price of the same khadi is at a low level of 5 thousand rupees.

How long has the power of 'Rukum Makot' remained? On the 18th of Baisakh last day, Prem Prasad Pun, President of Dhawalagiri Rural Municipality, while giving a speech at the welcome event organized for the shooting unit of the movie 'Maitighar', which was held at the auspicious day of Takam village in Myagdi, added the context of that song.

He discussed that due to the song 'Rukum Makot', not only Makot village but the entire Rukum district has contributed significantly to the development of tourism. Similarly, in the third week of March last, I went to Gurase Lake of Rolpa's Thabang Rural Municipality to shoot the film 'Jalaki'. The 4th Ward President Hikmat Ghartimagar requested the entire shooting unit including Director Ashok, 'We also had to adopt the same formula to bring in tourists as in Rukum's Makot.'

Through 'Khusma', the globalization of 'Rukum Makot' was done, along with the same song, Rukum as a whole was identified as a new 'global destination', not only Makot. In other words, it is believed by some that East Rukum and West Rukum, which were divided into two districts during the state restructuring, were emotionally united. Praveer Dadel, mediaperson of Paschim Rukum said, "Not only your Lumbini but also our Karnali region is taking advantage of the Rukum Makot song."
