Tea from Lobuche Peak

When I reached the peak of the 6,145-meter Lobuche mountain in a sense of risk, fear and excitement, I thought - I am standing on a piece of heaven and I am watching the earth. The mountain Lobuche, which can only be seen by raising the head, stood at a distance of eye level from the peak.

6:45 in the morning. Temperature below minus 35 degrees. The steam coming out of my mouth hit my beard and froze it within seconds and when I shaved it with my gloved hands it became soft and rough like sand.

When Lobuche saw the peak of the mountain, tears suddenly came out of his eyes, and words came out of his mouth, 'I was very surprised this time, I heard the story of climbing the mountain, but I didn't have the courage to climb it'. Chief Minister, it's been 2 years since you started cheering, this time the mountains were climbed in an unbelievable way! We climbed the 6,145-meter Lobuche mountain and got knotted!'

As soon as we reached the peak, we happily hugged each other . The mountains that always had to be looked at with a raised head were now standing at a distance of eye level from the peak of Lobuche.

Kanti told me last August, 'You are a person who makes promises, but never fulfills .' It has been more than two years since I said yes to my 14-year-old daughter and 9-year-old son wanting to visit Rara Lake. I remember in the flashback - Rara and a few years ago Dr. Trekking to Everest base camp with Ramesh Koirala filled me with good energy as a background for climbing Lobuche.

000

I had already told Kanti 5/6 months ago that I will go to climb the mountains with Nepali Congress General Minister Bishwa Prakash Sharma. However, Kanti tried to stop me from climbing the mountains as she remembered that her son was disturbed by the problem of 'high altitude' during the journey. She was saying, 'Your health is not the same as before.' But I was still in my position, and said, 'I will call you first on the first day of the trip.' 21 November 2081 . Seven summit record climber Mingma Sherpa and trekking guide Lakpa Sherpa were waiting for us inside the airport . I reached with Mahamantri Sharma. After completing the ticketing process, the news came, 'The Lukla airport is closed due to bad weather.'

On the first day of the journey, there was a long wait, and there was a feeling of 'Lou Sait Millen ki'. But, finally, after reaching Lukla at 1.30 pm, we started to tell Sait .

Sahuji Mingma Sherpa of Seven Summit said goodbye to us from Kathmandu to meet in Dingboche on 25th of November after four days . Mingma's nephew, Lakpa Sherpa, a record mountaineer, set off from Lukla as our charioteer. Not only has he climbed Mt. Everest, he has been known by the nickname 'Makalu Lakpa' after climbing Makalu Himal 3 times within 16 days of the same season and writing his name in the Guinness book. He called us 'Mama' from the beginning as we were friends of Mama Mingma . We also felt that it would be more intimate if we walked with a 'cook' and not a 'guide'.

Another young man joined us from Lukla - Dhan Tamang . Apart from working in a helicopter company in Lukla, he is also traveling as a mountain support worker. Started from Lukla around 2.00 pm Khumbu Padayatra of 4 people including 3 'Mamabhanja'. We had to reach Fakding at 2800 meters height to stay. Today is the first day, neither a long journey nor a worry about the height . We reached Phakding before evening by taking some ticket clips and photo clicks .

A few months ago, after the flood that broke out in the Himalayan lake, we found only one open hotel, 'Sherpa Guide Lodge .' Some essential 'protocols' to be followed during the walk were narrated.

Before going to sleep, I asked Mahamantri Sharma, who was lying on the bed - After listening to Sherpaji's guide, let's listen to Sharmaji's original line, shall we? Have you thought of some message points of our journey?

Vishwa Prakash said in a serious tone, 'How much of the impact of climate change can be known by reading the news? Let's see, understand and draw the attention of the government, parliament and the world.' This is the main purpose of our mountain climbing. But, overall, I have noted 9 objectives.'

'Nine-nine objectives in Ammamamama? Mountain climbing or World Bank's million dollar project?,' I also jokingly asked. He also replied in a joking manner, 'The first thing is that until we climb the mountain, it's only a Khumbu walk outside.'

I added, 'I agree.' So let's write only 3 Khumbu, 3 Padyatra in the social media posts . Let's create the hash tag!'

added, 'Not only that, let's write 3Jayhimal 3Jaynepal.' After further study, attention should be drawn to all relevant levels for the solution.

I asked again, 'Remaining eight chains?' We all have to respect the Sherpa community, guides and workers who play an important role in mountaineering. It is necessary to bring the government's attention to the issue of bringing the unsafe life of the Himalayan workers under the scope of the social security fund. From Pasanglhamu Sherpa, who lost her life during mountain climbing, all domestic and foreign climbers have to pay their respects and respect. These beautiful mountains, which have been given to us as a free gift by nature, are not only the identity of our country, but in some cases have also become a source of income. But, have we sincerely respected those who fought with this, who were born here and died here? Stopping the question in my mind, I asked the General Minister a third thing.

'After we climb the mountain, it will be a job to inspire those interested in adventure tourism . This is our next objective . After going around so much, special attention can definitely be drawn for the special priority of the state in the development of the tourism sector. And this week is Parliament Day. My idea is to climb Serofero on this day . Parliament Day will be celebrated with great enthusiasm and many important bills including education, civil administration, police will be passed at a snail's pace. It didn't happen at all . We should celebrate Parliament Day at its peak and draw the serious attention of honorable Speaker, Parliament and Parliamentary Committees. It is the common duty of all Nepali people to make Nepali society as pure and sacred as the mountains. Through this ascension, we urge the parties, parliament, organizations and the entire society to end all differences and inconsistencies including caste in Nepali society. Another purpose of the trip is this.'

'Yesterday there was a political change, now there is a need for a change in politics.' It is necessary to transform the trend within the system with maturity and increase new hope and trust in the citizen line. To control corruption, fraud and irregularity, it is called for more extensive legal action without any consideration for anyone close to them or others. Due to the delay in the construction of many physical infrastructures, it seems that the discontent among the citizens is continuously increasing . It is to appeal to the government for a new legal arrangement regarding the increase in capital expenditure by doing physical construction work such as roads and bridges in 3 shifts, and to start a completely new debate to find a stable parliamentary system with membership expansion for the sake of development, and a 5-year stable prime minister system for the strength of the system  .'

After hearing this from the mouth of the General Minister, I remembered the closed training vocabulary used by the communist parties. On the one hand, I felt like I was training, on the other hand, I was carrying the weight of a mountain of messages associated with mountain climbing.

The second day of the journey, 22nd Mansir! We walked from Fakding in the morning through Monjo and reached Jorasalle . On the way, we met a 70-year-old mother from Monjo - Angfuti Sherpa. Vishwaji said, 'Take blessings' from his mother. He said, 'I don't know who you are, what you do, but whoever you are, do good.'

A few months ago, the flood destroyed the Khumbu trekking route from the Dudhkosi bank. We were going to walk along the river bank. Collapsed in places, standing up and clinging to the wall and crawling along the Dudhkosi coast in a few hours, Hilary Bridge was reached, from where Taranath Sharma's 'Uphill of Ghangashya' has to climb a steeper road to reach Namche.

Tea from Lobuche Peak 000

In 6 years there has also been a change. High Altitude Bungee Jump Station has been opened at the lower bridge of Hilary Bridge. The walking path has become wide and steep. Maybe if the dozer was allowed to run, the tractor would have definitely come till now. However, the local Khumbu residents have not allowed dozers to be used to protect the footpath from Chaunrikhark. Which is the beauty of Khumbu Kshetra till today.

While going uphill, animals and birds like Naur, Thar, and Daphne were seen on the road . Why not? After all, it is also a part of the Everest National Park built for their protection. After climbing for one and a half hours, the lower part of Namche arrived.

As soon as the lower Namche was cut, a beautiful view of the Namche market was seen. At 4:30 in the winter time, when the sun had set, the electricity had started flickering in Namche . As the 'tourist season' was over, Namche was not as crowded as Thamel, but it was no less sparkling than Thamel. On the way, a little girl was found . She continued looking at me repeatedly. I asked for a name . She replied, "Sarika Sherpa".

was a different name than I expected. In Solukhumbu's Namche, a Sherpa's daughter's name was expected to be Chiring, Dolma or Yangzhen, but she was, Sarika . I was surprised by this name, but I immediately remembered - nine years ago, one of my friends told me to give a typical name, so my daughter is named Gounthali . He said that "Now my daughter is constantly wondering what name she should be given".

Not only the climate in the mountains, but also the way of naming people has changed. I was moving forward thinking like this. Sarika Nani asked me, 'Are you a girl?' I was surprised, 'Why?' Did you see the beard?'

The third day of the journey is November 23 . Today our stay was repeated in Namche. Today's stay was for 'acclimatization' so as not to get sick due to high altitude during the Himal journey, but Lakpa was taking us from Namchebazar at 3,440 meters to the world-famous Hotel Everest View located at an altitude of 3,880 meters.

A political figure, especially the general minister of the country's biggest political party. I was directly seeing how much the ring of the mobile phone chases to the point of picking up the mobile network.

Tea from Lobuche Peak

While going up the road, I sometimes get a phone call from my constituency asking when I will arrive at Bahundangi program to reach Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli,  Sometimes, being the general minister of the party, asking why I am absent from a big event like the Koshi state conference of my own party, I keep reminding them that this is a predetermined program 6 months in advance and talking on the phone while climbing to the top .

I understood these obligations of the Chief Minister as a common obligation of politicians. However, whether it was a written greeting to the state convention of the party being held in Biratnagar or a video statement addressing the program of the Prime Minister arriving in Jhapa Region No. 1, Vishwaji was doing it all laughing, enjoying and soaring.

We finished in about 5 hours. During the trip, we visited Thamserku, Amadablam, Nuhtse, Lohtse, Everest, Pumari and other mountains, remembering some conversations in Lukla, Phakding, Namche from Syangboche and Hotel Everest View. In the middle, Vishwaji asked - 'In the beginning, where is Island Peak?' , but only 3 days before the journey, I found out, 'The high camp, base camp of this mountain known as Imjatse Camps have been taken up from all sides. Besides, the ropes are also old.''

Only 3 days before the start of the journey, the mountain to be climbed felt like a mountain, but the fact that Lobuche's identity was more established also gave a different excitement .

Returning to Namche in the evening, two new members were added to the team – Engineer Subhash Adhikari and Padam Sharma . With Subhash, I had walked together in many districts and heights of this country . First trip was with Padmaji . The two new climbers had different temperaments. One prefers to talk more and the other talks less . Like eating a ton and drinking, another like just waking up from eighteen days of fasting .

For Subhash, who is used to footpaths, the road was like a street near his own house, but for Padmaji, he did not know what it was like the road to Chandralok. On the first day of the journey, Padmaji arrived at Namche after completing half of the movie. We were only worried about our friends, our main guide Lakpa was more worried than us. He was saying-'Acclimatization has not even happened, the legs are also gone in one day . Padam Sir, I thought you can't go, Mama .'

I reminded Lakpa Bhanja, 'Don't worry too much . We don't take risks . Who will go as far as he can go. If possible, climb the mountains, if not, see the mountains and return. No one will be offended by this.'

After saying this, Bhanja told the entire team the details of the trip and told them about the protocol. He also urged them to avoid alcohol and other things as they will be traveling to higher altitudes from tomorrow.

The fourth, fifth and sixth days of the journey were not very new for me in terms of geography. The place that has been, the same way . The sound of the same helicopter that is heard repeatedly on the road! Susesi  of the same milkmaid who has been listening regularly for the past 3 days.

For Vishwaji and Padmaji, all these were first experiences. Especially Vishwaji was enthusiastic when he met Chaunri to Danfe on the way or when he saw Thar from Naur. They will gossip even if they meet any guide or worker. When we met the locals, we had a longer conversation. When you meet a tourist or a hiker, you keep asking 'how soon will Tengboche, Dibuche, Dingboche, Thukla or Lobuche come' -

Which country is your home? How many times have you come to Nepal? When did you come for the first time? What did you think was good ?What are the things that need to be improved ?Almost all the tourists or hikers encountered on the road faced these questions of Vishwaji . In the meantime, Subhash and I reminded that some of the tourists who have returned tired may get irritated by such questions. The fourth and fifth day of the

journey was a day for us to understand the problems of the high mountain area, its people's life and lifestyle. In addition, we took it as an opportunity to have a close look at the conditions of the mountains such as Thamserku, Amadablam, Cholatse, Island Peak, Tabuche, Pumari, Makalu and have extensive dialogue with the local people.  On the fourth day of the

journey, an elderly foreign citizen caught our attention while walking from Namche. Vishwaji had a short conversation with him . He is a citizen of UK, aged 70  . 1994  This is his 22nd visit to Nepal in 30 years since he came to Nepal for the first time.

Admiring the hardships of the mountains and the energy of walking in them even in the cold weather, we moved forward. Those foreign senior citizens came to fight. I ran to pick her up, but she didn't touch me until she said 'thank you'. I just watched him get up thinking it was very difficult. I walked only after he said "I'm fine, you go".

On the fourth night, we reached Dibuche at a height of 3,870 meters, and on the fifth night, we were staying at Dingboche, a place with an altitude of more than 4,400 meters. As the journey on the fifth day was not very long, we were taking pictures and videos, communicating with the people we met. On the way, the same senior citizen was found again. Vishwaji, I and Subhash were . I guessed that this man must have no wife and children . Otherwise he would not have trekked alone at this age . Vishwaji wanted to talk to him again.

Tea from Lobuche Peak

The name of the 70-year-old British citizen is James Hendrix. In a short meeting, he openly told us, 'I have no son, no daughter, no wife!'

'Then who is there in the family?'

'One brother and one sister .' Sometimes I go to the beaches of Goa in South Asia and sometimes to the mountains . I like the life there very much . I have come here and am enjoying life with joy and fun.' Since we will not meet him anymore as he is planning to go to Chukung, we wished from our heart, 'May his journey be safe.' Surprisingly, the hiker of that age did not have any guide.

was falling in the evening . This fifth night of the journey seemed to be a little more uncomfortable today than yesterday . However, there was a distinct energy when a dancer recently approached the hotel where he was staying. A mother met Angsona Sherpa in the evening in the remote Dingboche valley in the lap of the Amadablam mountain.

As soon as he saw Vishwaji, he knew that he was the Congress General Minister, or maybe someone had told him! A photo was taken with the smiling mother with the Amadablam mountain in the background. After seeing the young people who went to climb the mountains, I said - it is very difficult, but it can be done!

We were just relaxing for a moment to wipe away the tiredness of the whole day by putting our bags, two policemen appeared . They must have surely received the news that Chief Minister Dingboche has arrived. One of them started asking Subhash and the other one about the destination, details, purpose, return route etc. of the Lakpasang Yatra .

Maybe even being a high-profile person and seeming like an unseasonable hike, they might have asked this question . On the way, we were surprised to see that not only many shops and hotels but also residential houses were locked. Especially since it is already the middle of November, it is getting cold now and the tourist season is already over.

Police friends were even more surprised when they found out that we were going to climb the Lobuche mountain . And they started asking about mountain climbing materials, safety protocol etc . We asked our guide Lakpa about all these things. After taking necessary information from LACPA, they came to wish us well .

At the same time Vishwaji asked them about themselves . On asking, I found out that this is the only temporary police station in the Upper Khumbu area, with only 4 personnel. Two of them are on vacation. Apart from regular security, this team has to look after the search and rescue work of those who came during the mountain climbing or got lost or got into trouble during the trek.

While talking about this, we remembered James, a British citizen who was traveling alone without a guide. Which agency of the state gave him the permission to go trekking in the mountains without a 'guide'? When we asked, "I always travel alone", he certainly did not deceive us.

If a person of that age is given permission for a solo trek by any body, it is very wrong . When there is news that many people die every year due to the risk of mountain travel, why is this weakness? The Chief Minister immediately drew the attention of Police Chief Basant Kunwar and Solukhumbu Sido Anoj Ghimire about the limited resources of the police from the field. According to the information given by Sidio, we were also alarmed by the regular death of hikers due to cold or altitude in the Khumbu area.

Sitting in such a place, I also wanted to salute the national service police who are engaged in human service despite the lack of resources.

In the meantime, Mingma, who sent us from Kathmandu to Lukla by helicopter, also arrived in Dingboche. Mingma arrived there by helicopter on the 25th as advised to join us from Dingboche on the journey. Subhash was telling how the Sherpas are in Ming, "2 years ago, Ramesh Koirala, Subhash Adhikari and Subhas Sharma reached Mera's base camp at 3:00 p.m. and reached the base camp at 9:00 p.m." In the middle of

, Mingma overtook, "What about me?" Sometimes my porter brothers would cross the road carrying heavy loads and arrive at my pick .

Bite his tongue and said, 'Looking and hearing your experience and relationship with the mountains, I thought you were the chief minister of the mountain climbing region!' Combining his aspirations with his political consciousness, he said, 'What time will it take for the minister to become the chief minister while staying with his brothers and sisters?'

Breaking the silent silence of the June night, I heard a sigh in the northern part of Dingboche.

000

According to the predetermined schedule, on the sixth day of the journey, i.e., on the 26th of November, we planned to do 'acclimatization' at Dingboche. For that, the only program was to reach the Nagarjuna hill towards Diuso and return. However, according to everyone's advice, it was not very difficult for anyone and instead the distance would be shortened by reaching a little higher place. On the sixth night, it was planned to stay at Thukla, which is 200 meters above Dingboche.

Thukla Everest base camp at 4600 meters is also the parting road for those going to Gokyo Lake via Gokyo Lake through Lobuche Himal and Chola Pass. According to the revised plan, before reaching the top of Nagarjuna hill, we returned to Dingboche from the middle and measured the size of the shoes and jackets to be worn while climbing the mountain and started packing for Thukla. There was also a debate on whether to send non-essential materials through Dhanbhai or to take them in bulk.

Dhan Tamang, laborer brother of Padayatra means porter brother in colloquial language. Through the conversation with Mijasila Dhan Bhai, the pain of porters in the Himalayan region could be closely understood . There is no guarantee of income, nor is there any decision as to who will treat them if they fall, get injured or become ill in any other way . Insurance is also not guaranteed.

Mingma was narrating, "Every year, dozens of porters go to the mountains with heavy loads, but they do not return to their homes." They will disappear in the middle . Neither their bodies nor their breath can be found . In this way, porters with uncertain income and uncertain life are the unspeakable pillars of this Himalayan tourism.' In case of mobile phone without network . Coincidentally, after paying 1000 rupees, you will get internet that runs for a few hours . That also ended after the battery went down due to the cold.

According to the revised schedule, the move was to be made for Lobuche High Camp tomorrow morning, and the following night to climb Lobuche Himal. Thukla's night was spent imagining a dream mixed with risk and fear.

000

'Hey! In the next 17 hours, we will be able to walk with all the materials for climbing the Lobuche mountain.

'We are going to go but what is Padmaji?', actually by suddenly deciding yes or why, we all did not take Padmaji seriously in mountain climbing . In the beginning, Padmaji Dibuche said, "He will return from Lukla or from Namche, but confirmed". He reached Thukla via Dingboche.

At around 9 o'clock in Chanchun, after having dinner in Thukla, we proceeded to stay at Lobuche High Camp. As we were eating, the cat-tied team had moved on with our mountain climbing materials and nbsp;. Prattyvagi food was telling you to be sweet and Nbsp;.
