Minister for Infrastructure Development Sunil Lamsal has arrived in Jumla during the road inspection of Karnali. He inspected the Karnali Highway, Nagmagamgadi Road and the road connecting Dolpa in Jumla on Sunday.
He also met the shepherds after reaching Guthichaur Patan. When the shepherds requested for a paved road, Minister Lamsal assured them of their safety. He stressed that Guthichaur could be developed as a beautiful tourist destination and become a center of attraction.
Minister Lamsal has also directly inspected the physical infrastructure that has been in a state of disrepair in Jumla for years. Minister Lamsal said, "The inspection is of all the roads in all the districts of Karnali. Budget has been allocated for all the roads. Whether the budget we have allocated is sufficient or not." We have reached the districts of Karnali to see if the budget should be increased. He said that he will identify the challenges and make a more effective plan in the coming year.
In Jumla, Minister Lamsal committed to re-establishing the Federal Drinking Water Office, which had been abolished earlier. He said, ‘The Federal Drinking Water Office has arrived. Work will start in a few days.’ Minister Lamsal said that he got the opportunity to directly experience the suffering of Karnali as he set out on a Karnali trip during the rain. ‘It came during the rain, which was perfect. I saw the roads and experienced the suffering of Karnali. Now it will be easier to formulate a plan,’ said Minister Lamsal.
In Jumla, he observed the condition of the offices under his ministry and also listened to the problems of service recipients. Along with Minister Lamsal, MPs Ramesh Kumar Sapkota and Sushant Vaidik are also participating. Locals of Jumla had garlanded Minister Lamsal with apples, demanding the upgrading of the Karnali Highway. They had also demanded the construction of a two-lane paved road, saying that the continuous landslides on the Karnali Highway during the rainy season would make it difficult to export apples.
