Two people died on Monday in a landslide in a panighat in Kalikot. Two people died on the spot on Monday morning after a landslide occurred in a panighat in Kaprikhoela, Parivan, Sannitriveni Rural Municipality-6.
Lal Bahadur Saund, 76, of Dhamigaun, Sannitriveni 6, and Mandir Saund, 46, of the same place, who had gone to grind the panighat, died on the spot, said Kalikot Police Chief Him Bahadur Khatri.
They were buried by a landslide that came from 25 meters above while they were sitting inside the panighat. DSP Khatri, who reached the spot, said that the bodies were retrieved from the landslide with the help of relatives. According to him, the landslide occurred due to heavy rain on Monday morning.
