Jagadulla Rural Municipality-5, Dolpa has immediately distributed relief of Rs 460,000 to the families affected by the flood that hit Gaerigaun on Sunday morning.

According to Rural Municipality Chairman Narsingh Rokaya, relief of Rs 30,000 per household has been provided to 8 households that were completely displaced by the flood.

Similarly, financial assistance of Rs 10,000 per household has been provided to 19 households that were partially affected, he said.

Chairman Rokaya informed that relief of Rs 50,000 has also been provided to the family of 56-year-old Anandi BK, who died in the flood.

According to him, temporary accommodation arrangements have been made for the affected families in the houses of relatives.

According to the Rural Municipality, a total of 35 households have been affected by the flood, while 7 households have been completely displaced. DSP Anilraj Giri said that a bond worth about Rs 7 million has been raised due to the flood.

Meanwhile, teams of Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and Nepal Army have been mobilized in coordination with the District Administration Office to collect rescue, relief and damage details after the flood. A team including Chief District Officer Junu Hamal Dhakal has inspected the affected areas on the spot.

After the condition of 44-year-old Reuli BK, who was injured in the flood, was critical, she was rescued by a Nepal Army helicopter in coordination with the Home Ministry and sent to Surkhet for further treatment.

The District Administration Office has stated that additional relief materials taken from the district will be distributed on Monday.

It is said that relief distribution and rehabilitation work has been taken forward in coordination with the local level, security agencies and the administration.
