The body of co-driver Ram Prasad Subedi, who went missing in a minibus accident that fell into the Karnali River in Dailekh, has been found in Kailali. DIG Jayaraj Sapkota, chief of the Karnali Province Police Office, said that it was found in Ghatgaun, Kailali. "The relatives have confirmed that the body is that of Ram Prasad Subedi after looking at the photo of the body," he said, adding, "A search is underway for others."
On July 18, a vehicle (number 02-001 Kha 1055) heading from Surkhet to Kalikot fell off the road into the Karnali River. The driver and co-driver, along with some passengers, went missing after the accident. Although the body of co-driver Subedi has been found, the search and rescue operation for other people missing in the accident is ongoing.
The Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force divers and other security agencies have continued the search in various coastal areas of the river.
