One person has died and 11 others have been injured in a jeep accident in Dolpa. According to the District Police Office, Dolpa, at 1:40 pm on Sunday, a jeep bearing the number Karnali Province 001 Ja 0052, which was heading towards Jumla from Majhagaun, Jagdulla Rural Municipality-4, fell about 20-25 meters off the road in the Maurelekh area of Jagdulla-5. Police said that 38-year-old Bishnu Budha, a resident of Tripurasundari Municipality-8, died on the spot in the accident.
There were 12 people, including the driver, in the jeep. Eleven people, including the driver, were injured. The injured were rescued with the help of police and locals and sent to the Karnali Institute of Health Sciences Teaching Hospital in Jumla for treatment, according to the District Police Office, Dolpa.
DSP Anilraj Giri said that further investigation into the accident is underway.
