The Karnali Provincial Assembly meeting is being continuously disrupted over the budget for the upcoming fiscal year. The opposition also disrupted the provincial assembly meeting on Thursday.
The opposition parties did not allow Finance Minister Rajiv Bikram Shah to go to the rostrum. The ruling party was preparing to pass the budget, but the main opposition parties Nepali Communist Party (NCP), Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) and former Chief Minister Rajkumar Sharma disrupted the parliament meeting.
After Speaker Nanda Gurung tried to move forward by sidestepping the opposition, a situation of chaos arose in the parliament.
The opposition parties have been disrupting the house since Tuesday, demanding that the red book not be issued, the popular daughter bank account program has been removed, the minister has introduced a plan contrary to the division of work regulations, and the budget allocated to institutions named after leaders, from Smriti Bhawan to Deutaka Thana should be improved.

The day-long discussion on Wednesday did not yield any conclusion. On Thursday, the ruling party adopted a strategy to pass the budget as it had the majority, but it could not be done due to opposition obstruction. The meeting, which was adjourned for half an hour, has been postponed to Friday.
