Tshiring Gurung, 27, of Tangsong Rural Municipality-1 in remote Chharka, Dolpa, was rescued by helicopter and brought to Karnali Province Hospital, Surkhet after experiencing complex pregnancy problems.
After the necessary specialist treatment was not possible at the local health post, she was brought to Karnali Province Hospital on Wednesday for further treatment through a Nepali Army helicopter under the President's Women Upliftment Program on the recommendation of a doctor.
Tshiring's husband, Phurba Sanduk Gurung, said that since it was not possible to bring her by land and provide timely treatment due to the remote geographical conditions, she had to be rescued and brought to Surkhet by helicopter.
